Manager of Development and Community Relations

The Gilbert Residence, a non-profit senior care living center, provides assisted, supportive and specialized living services, and nursing care, in a vibrant and friendly setting in downtown Ypsilanti, Michigan. We are seeking a dynamic, experienced professional to join our team as the Manager of Development and Community Relations. This position will oversee all aspects of the fund development and community relations program, including implementation of strategic initiatives to support The Gilbert Residence.

DUTIES

Key responsibilities include: management of annual campaign and special events, recruitment and management of volunteers, and maintenance of the organization's donor data base.

QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate must have a bachelor's degree and a minimum of 3-5 years of progressively responsible development, public relations or marketing experience.

Additional desired attributes include:

  • ability to adapt style to variety of situations
  • experience working with boards of directors and volunteers
  • strong organizational and strategic planning skills
  • Experience in nonprofit philanthropy highly desirable
  • experience with retirement communities a plus
