The Gilbert Residence is committed to continuing a tradition of excellence by providing compassionate and dignified care for seniors in our community.
The Resident Aide Float will work under the Director of Assisted Living to assist with the smooth function of the 58 unit Assisted Living and Memory Care departments in accordance with all internal policies, procedures, and state and federal laws.
Our ideal candidate will have a love for seniors and partner with our team to ensure their success.
DUTIES
The purpose of the RA Float is to assist in maintaining an optimum level of care for our residents. This will be accomplished through enabling the Resident Assistants to provide continuous exceptional care with limited interruption of responsibilities. Although the RA Float will assist as needed with activities of daily living, the main responsibilities and duties of this position are as follows:
- Training of new hires. Along with thorough training, the RA Float will ensure that the new hires first impressions are warm and welcoming.
- Troubleshoot for harmful/disruptive behaviors
- Assist RA's/Activities in providing a basic daily structure for the resident
- Redirect negative behaviors
- Provide creative groups/one-on-ones/activities with the residents; family members will find comfort in knowing there is staff available for personal interaction with their loved one.
- Round halls/rooms for elopement risk and the safety and protection of the resident.
- Aid in 2 persons assist with personal care and toileting
- Assist with kitchen duties
- Relieve RA's during their breaks; accepting he responsibilities of care for their set.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Graduate (preferred)
- Two (2) plus years of experience preferred
- Willingness to work in a team environment.
- Patient, alert, keen, energetic, and strong awareness to the environment.
- Experience with Dementia care required; Empathetic and understanding of the disease process.
- Ability to understand/take directions; accept constructive criticism and respond in a positive appropriate manner.
- Willing to respond to changes in the work unit in a positive professional manner.
- Positive attitude; The willingness to promote positive professional relationship among coworkers.
- Must have a proven record of reliable attendance
- Must have every other weekend availability
- Attached you will find a listing of residents who will need personalized one-on-one interaction, 2 persons assist, monitoring for fall risk, & behaviors.
Additionally:
- Must have weekend and holiday availability
- Drug screening in addition to a physical and criminal background check will be required upon hire.
